Teen Drivers Ed
Teen classes will be offered to students from 14 to 17 years of age. 32 hours of coursework is needed to complete the first of two parts of the teen driver education program. The classroom portion (Phase 1) is now available both online and in-person. However, many parents and students find that the online course is more convenient and allows more flexibility to meet their busy and hectic lifestyles. The first 6 hours or 3 days students will meet with the instructor during this time the instructor will give students a review and will administer both the DPS Exams covering Road Rules and Road Signs. After passing the two exams students will be emailed their learner license certificate to take down to their nearest DPS for processing. Please do not schedule a DPS appointment until the certificate has been emailed. At the DPS students will need to prove their citizenship and residence. Please visit the DPS website for accepted forms of documentation. After being issued their learner license students can legally practice with an instructor or anyone over 21 with a valid drivers license with more than 1 year driving experience. The remaining portion (26 hours) of the coursework can be finished by accessing our online curriculum through our website. All instruction materials will be provided.
For the driving portion (Phase 2) students must complete 7 hours of driving with a certified instructor and 7 hours of in-car observation. Adult 6hr eCourse

Adult students 18-25 must complete a 6 hour class in-person or online. Students will be given two DPS exams (Road Signs and Road Rules) and once they complete and pass the class they will be issued a certificate ADEE-1317 by email. The student will then take the certificate to DPS and will either apply for an adult permit or schedule a driving test. The final task before your road test is to watch the mandatory video from DPS called IMPACT Texas Adult Drivers. The video is 1 hour long and has a few questions at the end. A certificate will be issued upon completion with a 90 day expiration date. To register for the video click on the LINK HERE. Students that may need additional in-car training can also sign up for driving lessons with a certified instructor. For more information contact our office at 361-827-2117.
