Teen classes will be offered to students from 14 to 17 years of age.  32 hours of classroom instruction is needed to complete the first of two parts of the teen driver education program.  The classroom portion (Phase 1) is now offered as a hybrid class available both online and in-person.  However, many parents and students find that the online course is more convenient and allows more flexibility to meet their busy and hectic lifestyles.  The first 6 hours can be done through a Webex meeting online with a certified instructor and will meet the first 3 days.  New classes start every Monday thru Wednesday from 7-9pm.  During those three days students will be given two DPS Exams covering Road Rules and Road Signs.  Afterwards the student can come by the office to pick up their learner permit certificate to take down to DPS.  If student lives out of town we can mail his/her certificate.  Now the student can legally practice with an instructor or anyone over 21 with a valid drivers license.   The remaining portion (26 hours) of the classroom theory can be finished by accessing our online curriculum through our website.  All instruction materials will be provided.   For the driving portion (Phase 2) students must complete 7 hours of driving with a certified instructor and 7 hours of in-car observation.  Click on the link to see more about Texas Graduated Licensing for Teens and to see the formats that we provide.  Come learn to drive with us, for more information please give us a call at 361-827-2117.

This class will be offered to students over 18.  Adult students must complete a 6 hour class in-person or online.  Students will be given two DPS exams (Road Signs and Road Rules) and once they complete and pass the class they will be issued a certificate ADE-1317.  The student will then take the certificate to DPS and will apply for an adult permit.  Now the student can practice driving with a licensed driver over 21.  Once they are confident enough they may schedule a road exam at the DPS.  The final task before scheduling your road test is to watch the mandatory video from DPS called IMPACT Texas Adult Drivers.  The video is 1 hour long and has a few questions at the end.  To register for the video click on the LINK HERE.  Students that may need additional in-car training can also sign up for private lessons with a certified instructor.  For more information contact our office at 361-827-2117.
